What's a Growth Group?

A Growth Group is a group of usually 8 to 14 people who meet together on a regular basis, either in homes or at the church, to study the Bible, discuss how it applies to their lives, personally connect with each other through fellowship and pray for one another.

Why should I be in one?

Biblically, every Christian is a disciple.  A disciple is a learner, a follower of Jesus Christ.  The Growth Group is our primary means of helping people grow into spiritually maturing disciples.  It’s where we can ask questions and learn from one another.  It’s where we learn how God’s Word impacts our daily life and how we can go about making it real and personal.

The Growth Group is also where we develop meaningful, supportive relationships with others.  It’s just not possible to develop close friendships when you only see one another occasionally on Sunday mornings.  Relationships take time to develop – they need regular interaction on a deeper level.  That’s what Growth Groups specialize in!

What are we aiming to grow in? We expect to :

- grow in our knowledge of the Bible

- grow in our love of our Savior, Jesus Christ

- grow in godliness

- grow in spiritual depth

- grow in our relationships with one another

When and where do they meet?

Growth Groups meet weekly on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. Some of the groups meet in members' homes and some groups meet at the church.

Our groups meet in the evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., but we also offer a group for women that meets on Wednesday mornings at the church. See the chart below.

Our Growth Groups season is broken into 2 sessions:

Fall Session:  Sept. 8 through Dec. 11, 2019.   Registration starts Aug. 18, 2019 (During Sunday services).

Spring Session:   Jan. 5 through May 13, 2020.  Registration starts Dec. 15, 2019 (During Sunday services).

If you like your group, you can feel free to stay in it from season to season. If you'd like to change your group, you can switch to an open group during the next registration period.

How do I get in one?

To sign up for a group, use the appropriate sign-up sheet in the Worship Center on Sunday mornings during the registration periods. Or you can call the Growth Groups Director, Pastor Ed Fedor, at the church office.  He can be reached at 440-442-6470.
