The Children’s Ministry at Cornerstone Community Church is committed to offering biblically sound teaching that is age-appropriate. Parents can feel comfortable leaving their children in a safe and nurturing environment. Parents are also welcome to keep their children with them for the duration of the Worship Service.

All of our Children’s Ministry staff have undergone a detailed background check and screening process.

We want our children to become acquainted with the whole Bible, grow in Christ, and in spiritual maturity. We teach them to develop a biblical mindset and a Christian worldview.

“How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. Blessed are you, O LORD; teach me your statutes!”  (Psalm 119:9-12)

“…from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings which are able to instruct you for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.” 2 Timothy 3:15

Our Vision

Our vision is to offer biblically sound teaching that is age-appropriate in a safe and nurturing environment.

  • To partner with parents as they raise their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
  • To thoughtfully and effectively engage the children we teach for the sake of the gospel.
  • To help children learn to live courageously in the world even under peer pressure.
  • To teach the next generation God’s truth and help bring them to salvation in Jesus Christ.
  • To see the children grow in Christ and spiritual maturity, making their parents’ faith their own.

We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders that he has done.”  Psalm 78:4

Classes

Nursery (birth to 18 months)

A safe and welcoming place for young children to be cared for while their parents attend the worship service.

Toddler Room (19 to 35 months)

A fun inviting play space that also includes a casually structured teaching time that includes truths about God, Bible stories, and music.

Preschool I (3 & 4-year-olds)

Using Bible stories, play, music, games, and videos we teach children about God’s amazing attributes while pointing them to the gospel story.

Preschool II (5-year-olds thru Kindergarten)

Children begin to be introduced to God’s amazing Word each week as we investigate a portion of Scripture and make it come to life with visuals, songs, games, and videos.  Children will learn about the big story of God’s plan of redemption weaved through all of Scripture, introducing them to the gospel that can transform their lives.

1st & 2nd Grade, 3rd & 4th Grade, 5th & 6th Grade

Using a God-centered curriculum that has a biblical vision for worship and biblical literacy, the elementary department strives to help school-aged children know, honor, and treasure God, setting their hope on Christ alone, so that they will live as faithful disciples for the glory of God.

Staff & Volunteers

The safety and security of our children is a high priority. All of our Children’s Ministry workers have undergone an application process which includes a detailed background check and training including child safety training. Anyone who serves must be a formal member of Cornerstone Community Church (our teen volunteers must be children of members). We also have a minimum two-adult-per-room rule. If you are interested in knowing more about the Policies and Safety Procedures that we follow, please contact our Children’s Ministry Director at adekker@cornerstonemayfield.org.
